The Impact Zone BY GEOFF GREIG Golf is a target game. How nice our swing looks is not as important as how few swings it takes to get the ball in the hole. Only one thing DIRECTLY influences the golf ball in its search for the hole... the clubface. If the clubface is passing through the "impact zone" correctly, the ball will go where we want it to. Since efficiency is the fastest route to proficiency, it makes sense to place most of our learning focus on what it looks and feels like to swing the clubhead properly through the "impact zone". The idea is to spend the most time on what will give us the best results. Change Only what is necessary to achieve your desired results and the process of getting there will be a lot more enjoyable. Continue on to Clubhead Path, Clubface Angle and Angle of Attack, ingredients for a proper "impact zone". Have fun on the links!
