Ping iPing Putter Cradle Description
A free download from the AppStore can now make your putting more pro. The iPing app is available for iPhone4 and iPod touch (4th gen). All you need is the iPing cradle - a plastic case for your iPhone or iPod so you can attach it to your putter. The iPing cradle will hold your iPhone or iPod securely while it’s clipped onto the shaft of the putter just below the grip where it is still largely visible. There are different choices for iPing cradles either for the iPhone 4 or the iPod Touch.
This latest innovation helps you analyze your stroke in the closest way possible. Working as a launch monitor, it helps you measure the important aspects of your putting stroke. Your consistency is improved over time plus it is fun to use and consists of many convenient features. The app uses three criteria in its analysis: your impact angle (or how the face of the putter angles at impact which is relative to the address), stroke type (which is by how much the face of the putter rotates when you do the forward stroke) and the tempo (the measure of the period of the backswing as it is relative to your forward swing stroke).
It computes the consistency over a total of five putts where your tempo, impact angle and stroke type are measured. These stats are then displayed and then stored for all the putts in that particular session. These consistency scores are then averaged over a period of time to make up your Putting Handicap (PHcp).
